Staying at Tazuru was an intriguing experience that offered a glimpse into the traditional ryokan style of accommodation. My room featured tatami mats and provided a surprisingly cozy space for a night. One of the highlights of my stay was the indoor public bath, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. I found the terrace to be a nice spot to soak in the serene environment, complemented by the tranquil sounds of the nearby river. The option for massage therapy added a pleasant touch to enhance relaxation, though I didn't take advantage of it during my short visit. The location was a bonus; it was conveniently situated near the canals and Gion. I appreciated the multilingual staff, which made my stay easier. While my experience was brief, Tazuru certainly has elements that cater to travelers seeking tranquility in Kyoto. If you are looking for a unique and serene spot, this could be worth considering.
